All along the Chennai coastline, from Lighthouse in Santhome to the Uthandi Beach, 4,600 volunteers engaged in clearing the beach of garbage. This mega event was held on June 18 by the Chennai Trekking Club and the Enrivonmental Foundation of India (EFI).
This was the eighth edition of the awareness drive. The annual cleanup and awareness drive is part of a pan-South India campaign.
