ECR toll to increase

ECR toll

ECR toll rates are to be hiked from July 15. This is the first time that the rates have been raised since 2002.

Widening of the lanes from Uthandi to Mamallapuram, and correction of dangerous curves all the way to Pondicherry are reasons behind the hike.

Cars would have to shell out Rs. 10 extra per return trip to Mamallapuram (from Rs, 45 to Rs. 55), and trucks and buses, which currently ply at Rs. 75 return trip, will have to pay double that, as their toll has been increased to Rs. 150.
